Drew Wentzel grew up in Schaumburg, IL and now resides in Palatine. Having played all four
years on varsity, she attended James B. Conant High School from 2010-2014. She went on to
play collegiate soccer for Denison University located in Gransville, OH from 2014-2018. While
playing for the Big Red, she received various accolades such as Newcomer of the Year,
Defensive Play of the Year (twice) along with conference, state, and regional recognition. She
also made two trips to the NCAA tournament. She graduated with a BA in Economics and later
on, achieved her Masters in Education in 2019. Drew was a part of the U23 Elite women’s team
from 2014-2017. Over the years since college, she has helped coached players individually as
well as in camps develop their skills and broaden their love for the game.
“You can learn a lot about yourself through playing a team sport like soccer. Being a skillful
player is as equally important as being a great teammate. I teach my players to be both.”
